Greeks Shouldn't Run

I had a wonderful morning.  Up early for a nice run which included a fun detour on a dirt trail that had the most wonderful views – I will have to bring a camera one day to show off.  After my run I had a slow morning – again filled with the most wonderful breakfast ever.  Today was torture because the weather was so wonderful- the sun was shinning and so warm.  Yet, we had to sit through 3 classes inside.  One of which went over 15 minutes.  The classes are getting interesting though and we have our first class at a historic site on Thursday so that will be a lot better – hopefully the weather is just as good.  But if I were at home, this would have been my personal day of the week – for sure.  After class, we all decided we needed to go out.  So all of us – all 21 of us – went downtown to go to this Irish Pub.  Some pictures before setting off on our journey:

Corrine and I branched away from the group to have an adventure and meet some Greeks.  We walked all around and eventually had to try out the metro.  When coming off of it, we went to run up the stairs and then decided that we don’t think that the Greeks do that.  This was said exactly when a Greek man (young) jolted past us falling repeatedly with his huge backpack on.  You had to be there – but it was hilarious.  One our journey we got a good picture of the Acropolis:

We ended up somewhere local and made friends with the bartender Thanos (we figured this was a smart move).  We talked to him for a while about Greek life, economy, smoking, etc.  It was great to finally have a conversation with a local.  We met back up with the group at home and as it turns out we all had a wonderful evening.  Up early tomorrow for more Visa stuff – not fun.  But maybe this is the end!!! I have hope!! Kalinicta (Good night).
